Recycling

E-WASTE
Electronic waste or ‘e-waste’ encompasses all old electrical appliances either in a state of disrepair or simply obsolete. Failure to segregate any type of recyclable material in the home will usually result in the items being disposed of in a landfill site or being incinerated, where toxins put communities at risk. Therefore, correct disposal of e-waste is of vital importance to being able to achieve a sustainable future.
As electric and electronic equipment, our products should not be placed in the municipal waste, and instead should be handled properly and handed over to the appropriate collection places or to authorised companies. To remind you to recycle, all packaging of our products are marked with a crossed out wheelie bin symbol.

WEEE & PACKAGING
At EDGAR, we care about the environment and fulfill our obligations with regard to the legal requirements of the Electrical and Packaging Act. We are registered with the National Register for Waste Electric Equipment (Stiftung EAR) in Germany under the WEEE number DE66384737, registered at the central office for packaging and implement these environmental requirements also in our exporting countries.
The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE 2) regulations in place across Europe require that businesses involved in the supply of electronic and electrical equipment take an active role in its collection and recycling.
The German Packaging Act (Verpackungsgesetz or VerpackG), which took effect on 1 January 2019, ensures beforehand that any packaging brought into Germany, whether this be for the purpose of protecting a product, marketing or sending by post (shipment packaging), must ensure these packaging materials are disposed of correctly. This reflects the principle of manufacturer product responsibility laid down in Germany and in the European Union.
To facilitate our obligations for these directives, a 3% fee will be added to all B2B orders, which will be waived upon supply of a B2B customer’s own WEEE number.
